Ankara: Trkiye has voiced strong criticism of Israel's ongoing military actions in the Gaza Strip, asserting that these raids demonstrate Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's lack of genuine commitment to peace with the Palestinians.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Sunday evening, highlighting that Israel has killed over 30 Palestinians and targeted health facilities in Gaza. This escalation follows an agreement reached on Friday, which outlined a roadmap for implementing a peace plan.
The statement further accused Netanyahu of aiming to displace Palestinians from their homeland, thus undermining peace and stability in the region. It criticized the Israeli Prime Minister for taking steps that could disrupt the fragile regional balance and impede the efforts of mediating countries, notably the United States, in achieving peace.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry emphasized that Netanyahu's expansionist and militaristic policies are turning the Middle East into a potential battleground, urging the international community to adopt a stronger, more consistent stance against these actions.
In its conclusion, the ministry called for global solidarity in supporting peace and prosperity in Palestine and the region, advocating for the defense of international law and humanitarian principles.
The ongoing Israeli attacks represent daily violations of the ceasefire agreement, which has been in effect since October 10, 2025, occurring just two days after a roadmap for the ceasefire's next phase was announced by US President Donald Trump and the Peace Council. Despite the announcement, no official comment has been issued by Israel regarding the roadmap.
Since the ceasefire's initial phase, Israeli actions have resulted in 1,230 Palestinian deaths and 4,076 injuries, alongside arrests and destruction in Gaza. The agreement aims to halt the ongoing violence since October 8, 2023, which has caused significant casualties and infrastructure damage in the region.
