Palestinian Officials Collaborate on Renewable Energy Awareness Initiative

Ramallah: The General Supervisor of Palestinian Official Media, Minister Ahmed Assaf, engaged in discussions with Engineer Ayman Ismail, the Head of the Energy and Natural Resources Authority, to explore ways to enhance cooperation in promoting renewable energy awareness.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the meeting held at Minister Assaf's office led to an agreement to develop a television program focusing on solar energy. This program aims to highlight solar energy's economic and environmental benefits, ways to utilize it effectively, and the importance of raising citizen awareness about energy consumption and cost reduction. The initiative also seeks to promote a culture centered on clean energy sources.

Engineer Ismail presented a review of key projects undertaken by the Energy and Natural Resources Authority across the country's various governorates. These projects, covering essential sectors such as health, education, local government, water, and public services, have increased reliance on renewable energy, reduced energy costs, and improved service quality and sustainability for citizens.

Minister Assaf emphasized the importance of community awareness regarding development issues and expressed the official media's commitment to supporting the television program. This effort is intended to convey messages that foster a culture of solar energy usage.

Engineer Ismail assured the Energy Authority's readiness to provide the necessary technical and informational support to ensure the success of this media initiative, aligning with the national interest.

The meeting was attended by several key figures, including the Director General of Palestine TV, Muhammad Al-Barghouthi, Deputy Chairman of the Energy Authority, Basil Yassin, and Assistant Undersecretary of the Energy Authority, Reem Karzon.
