PCBS Reports Significant Increase in Industrial Production Index for June 2026

Gaza: According to a report by Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), the overall Industrial Production Index (IPI) in Palestine reached 82.89 in June 2026, marking a 9.37% increase compared to May 2026 with the base year set at 2019.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, The report highlights that the rise in the IPI for June 2026 is attributed to several key industrial activities. Notably, the activities in Mining and Quarrying saw a significant increase of 13.31%, contributing 2.89% to the total industry. Furthermore, the Manufacturing Industry, which holds the largest share of the total industry at 87.89%, experienced a growth of 9.58%. Activities in Electricity, Gas, Steam, and Air Conditioning Supply also rose by 7.57%, accounting for 7.38% of the industry. Additionally, activities related to Water Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management, and Remediation increased by 6.21%, representing 1.84% of the total industry.

The data also reveals a noteworthy development in Gaza Strip, where 11% of the industrial establishments resumed operations during June 2026. This statistic is derived from a sample of 114 establishments that are representative of the industrial index in the region.
