Arab Parliament Speaker Condemns Israeli Actions in Gaza and West Bank, Urges International Action

The speaker of the arab parliament:amahi, condemned the crimes that the Israeli occupation continues to perpetrate in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem, calling for urgent international action to halt the escalation and hold those responsible accountable.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Al-Yamahi stated that the targeting of hospitals, health facilities, residential homes, and tents of displaced persons, resulting in the deaths and injuries of dozens of civilians, mostly women and children, is part of an ongoing war of extermination. He emphasized that these actions violate international law, international humanitarian law, the Geneva Conventions, and UN resolutions.

Al-Yamahi further noted that the experiences of the Palestinian people have escalated beyond mere violations to constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity witnessed by the international community. He warned that the persistent silence and inaction on the international stage embolden the occupation to continue its aggressive policies, posing threats to regional and international security and stability.

He highlighted that the Israeli escalation in the West Bank, including attacks by extremist settler groups under occupation forces' protection, along with settlement expansion, land confiscation, and forced displacement, underscores the occupation government's ongoing plan to undermine the Palestinian cause and impose illegal realities on the ground.

The Speaker urged the international community, the Security Council, and states committed to justice and human rights to adopt urgent measures to cease the war on the Palestinian people, enforce international resolutions, and compel the occupation to adhere to the ceasefire agreement. He called for advancing to the next phase of the peace plan to ensure a permanent cessation of aggression, the complete withdrawal of occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, reopening of crossings, and guaranteeing immediate humanitarian and medical aid access.

Al-Yamahi also advocated for empowering the Government of the State of Palestine to exercise full responsibilities in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem, as a unified geographical and political entity. He called for imposing international sanctions on the occupation and suspending privileges, agreements, and facilities granted to it until it complies with international law and resolutions.

Furthermore, he urged the inclusion of settlement organizations, extremist settler militias, and their supporters and financiers on international terrorism lists, the prosecution of occupation leaders before the International Criminal Court, and an end to the policy of impunity that has facilitated ongoing crimes.
