Gaza: Minister of Finance and Planning Estephan Salameh and Italian Consul General Domenico Bellato signed a £10 million grant to support the Palestinian public budget, as part of ongoing bilateral partnership and cooperation. The grant aims to bolster the Palestinian Authority's initiatives, particularly in the healthcare sector.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the grant will be disbursed through the European Union's PEGASE mechanism. This funding is directed towards the Palestinian Authority to aid its reform process. The financial support is intended to alleviate pressures on the healthcare system by supporting medical personnel and easing operational burdens, thereby ensuring the delivery of comprehensive healthcare services.
The ministry emphasized that this support is a testament to the Italian government's commitment to aiding Palestinian efforts in strengthening healthcare resilience.
