Israeli Colonists Attack Palestinian Home in Umm Safa

Umm Safa:Israeli colonists attacked a Palestinian home in the village of Umm Safa, north of Ramallah, on Friday. Local sources reported that the colonists were protected by Israeli occupation forces during the incident.

According to Palestine news & Information Agency, the colonists targeted the home of Mohammad al-Obaiyat, with soldiers confiscating family members' mobile phones to prevent documentation or sharing of the event.

The occupation authorities recently installed an iron gate at the entrance of the al-Obaiyat family's home to isolate the household and impose further restrictions on them.

Marwan Sabah, the head of the Village Council, stated that the colonists committed acts of vandalism between Umm Safa and the nearby village of Burham, coinciding with a large-scale raid carried out by occupation forces in the village.

Violence by colonists against Palestinians and their properties is a common occurrence in the West Bank and is seldom prosecuted by Israeli authorities. Such violence includes incidents like property arsons, stone-throwing, and the destruction of crops and olive trees. There are currently around 1 million Israeli colonists residing in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which is considered a violation of international law.
