Hebron:Israeli colonists attacked a Palestinian woman and her son in Khirbet al-Kharaba, east of as-Samu, south of Hebron. The incident left the woman and her son with bruises and contusions.
According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, the colonists entered the hamlet with livestock, allowing the animals to wander in the community's yards before assaulting and pepper-spraying the woman and her son.
The woman was subsequently taken to Yatta Governmental Hospital for treatment, while her son received medical care at the scene. In a related incident, colonists blocked the road connecting the town of as-Samu with Khirbet Um Nizal, southeast of Yatta.
The violence by colonists against Palestinians and their property is a common occurrence in the West Bank, where such acts are rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities. These acts of violence include property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting crops and olive trees, and attacking vulnerable homes, among others. Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists reside in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which is considered a violation of international law.
