Salfit:The Director General of the Salfit Health Directorate, Haitham Mansour, has reported that the Israeli closure of the northern entrance to Salfit city is significantly affecting healthcare services. This closure is blocking thousands of Palestinian patients from accessing essential healthcare facilities.
According to Palestine news and Information Agency, the closure is impeding healthcare workers from reaching 13 health clinics and an emergency center under the directorate's administration. This situation is resulting in staffing challenges and delays in the delivery of medicines, medical supplies, and childhood vaccines.
Additionally, the closure is hindering the operations of field health teams and environmental inspection teams. It also restricts access for patients and visitors to the Health Directorate and the government hospital, which is the only hospital available in the Salfit Governorate.
The northern entrance to Salfit city has been closed by Israeli occupation forces since last Saturday, exacerbating the challenges faced by healthcare providers and residents in the area.
