Israeli Attacks on Palestinian Farmers in West Bank Documented by CWRC

Accra:The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission (CWRC) documented 13 Israeli assaults against Palestinian farmers and property across the occupied West Bank on Tuesday.

According to Palestine news and Information Agency, the CWRC reported that Israeli occupation forces and colonists committed these assaults and violations against Palestinian civilians, their lands, and property in the West Bank governorates of Ramallah and al-Bireh, Nablus, Salfit, Jenin, and Tubas, as well as the Northern Jordan Valley.

The assaults involved physical attacks on farmers, preventing them from harvesting olives, stealing crops, equipment, and sheep, cutting down trees, breaking into homes, closing roads and entrances, and expanding a colonial outpost. In the Ramallah and al-Bireh governorate, colonists attacked a family in the al-Batin area of Sinjil, stole the olive harvest and agricultural equipment, and chased its members. They closed the road to the Gharaba area and set up mobile homes to expand an existing colonial outpost.

In Silwad, colonists, protected by occupation troops, broke into Palestinian homes, ransacked them, and stole sheep. Soldiers detained two young men during the raid. In Burqa, colonists grazed their sheep on villagers' lands. In Nablus, colonists assaulted a farmer in Madama and attempted to steal his harvest, while others attacked homes in Asira al-Shamaliya and plowed agricultural land in al-Masoudiya plain.

In Salfit, colonists cut down olive trees and stole equipment in Wadi al-Ahmar and attacked olive harvesters from Yasuf. In Jenin, soldiers denied most farmers access to their olive groves around Dotan colony, holding dozens of vehicles and detaining young men, some of whom were handcuffed and blindfolded. Only a few families and older farmers were allowed to reach their groves.

In Tubas and the Northern Jordan Valley, colonists chopped down about 250 olive trees in the Umm al-Kubaysh area. The CWRC noted that these attacks were accompanied by the closure of town entrances, including Sinjil, Turmus Ayya, al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya, Yatma, and al-Sawiya, as well as the road connecting Ramallah and Nablus, disrupting movement between towns and villages.
