Hamas Ma’an: We require our wounded to cross first before foreigners cross, due to the targeting of ambulances by bombing

Cairo – Together – Sources at the Egyptian Rafah land crossing said that the crossing gate between Egypt and the Gaza Strip has been closed today, Saturday, since the opening of the crossing at nine o’clock, and no wounded Palestinians or foreign nationals have crossed from Gaza into Egypt until this afternoon, while the Egyptian Red Crescent sent the batch this morning. The twelfth of Palestinian aid to the Al-Auja commercial crossing in preparation for its entry into the Gaza Strip through the Palestinian Rafah crossing, with 50 humanitarian aid trucks carrying medicines, medical supplies, baby milk and mineral water.

Palestinian officials in the Palestinian Crossings Authority attributed, in exclusive statements to Ma’an’s correspondent in Egypt, that the Palestinian side closed the Rafah crossing from the Palestinian side indefinitely due to the Israeli aircraft’s targeting of Palestinian ambulances, which hindered the arrival of the wounded Palestinians to the vicinity of the Palestinian Rafah crossing and from there to the Egyptian side, and Hamas stipulated that they not cross. Any foreign nationals to Egypt unless the wounded cross the entire Gaza Strip to the Egyptian side.

The Palestinian source said in text: “No foreign passport holders will travel from the Gaza Strip until after the coordination and exit of the wounded Palestinians from hospitals in Gaza and the north towards the Rafah crossing.”

Egypt is still awaiting the arrival of any wounded or foreign nationals from the Palestinian side. Egypt has not closed the crossing on its side, but the problem is on the other side. Egypt has prepared with 40 ambulances at the Rafah crossing to transport the wounded once they reach the Egyptian side.

Since it was opened to admit the wounded last Wednesday until yesterday, Friday, the Rafah land crossing witnessed the crossing of 84 wounded Palestinians, accompanied by 65 of their relatives, and the crossing of 1,047 holders of dual nationalities until last Friday evening, while no one crossed today, Saturday, until this afternoon.
