Ghoneim: The bombing of the water tank exacerbates the humanitarian situation in the northern Gaza Strip

Ramallah - Ma'an - The head of the Palestinian Water Authority, Engineer Mazen Ghoneim, blamed the Israeli occupation for the consequences of the crimes taking place on the ground against citizens, which left tens of thousands of martyrs and wounded and left massive destruction in the Strip.

He considered that stopping water supplies and targeting the water and sanitation infrastructure was a direct attack on the most basic necessities of life in Gaza.

Ghoneim considered that the occupation, by targeting the Tal al-Zaatar reservoir, is targeting one of the basic components of life in the northern Gaza Strip and is exacerbating the humanitarian conditions in general and the Indonesian hospital in particular, as this area is considered one of the areas most suffering from water shortages.

Minister Ghoneim stressed that the acute shortage of water supplies in the Gaza Strip, in addition to the suspension of sanitation services, has reached a very dangerous level in light of the continued Israeli aggression, warning that this situation heralds a humanitarian, health and environmental catastrophe that threatens the lives of citizens and increases the possibility of the spread of epidemics. And infectious diseases, in light of the increasing number of hospitals and health units out of service.

M stressed. Ghoneim stressed the need to quickly stop the aggression against the Gaza Strip and introduce humanitarian needs, especially the needs necessary to restart water and sanitation facilities, to alleviate the difficult humanitarian situation of the people of the Gaza Strip, stressing that the Water Authority will continue to work with all parties to alleviate the suffering of citizens in light of these difficult circumstances.

He said, "As part of its ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation, in the late hours of last night, targeted and bombed the Tal al-Zaatar water tank in the northern Gaza Strip, which led to the tank's water flowing and wasting in light of the difficult water situation resulting from the continuous bombing of the Strip, in light of what... The occupation cut off electricity and water and prevented the entry of fuel, which exacerbated the humanitarian disaster in general and the water disaster in particular.
