New York:Chinese Vice President Han Zheng has called for the Palestinian issue to be returned as swiftly as possible to the track of a two-state solution.
According to Palestine news and Information Agency, Han made these remarks during his address on Saturday evening at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Han emphasized that international conflicts and disputes should be resolved through dialogue and consultations, opposing unilateral military actions that contravene the UN Charter and the Security Council's authority.
He urged major powers to fulfill their responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security by respecting international rules, upholding the rule of law, and setting a positive example.
Han also reaffirmed China's respect for the sovereignty and security of Middle Eastern countries, including the Gulf states, and called for advancing the reconstruction of Gaza based on the principle of "Palestine being governed by Palestinians."
