Kafr Malek:Ramallah Israeli occupation authorities have issued a military order affecting 56.026 dunums of land in the village of Kafr Malek, northeast of Ramallah. The order mandates the removal of wild vegetation and the uprooting of olive trees under the guise of security measures.
According to Palestine news and Information Agency, the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported that the affected land is Palestinian-owned and located adjacent to Route 449, south of the village. Landowners have been given seven days after an organized field tour to carry out the removal. If they fail to comply, the authorities are authorized to execute the removal. Landowners have the right to file objections within seven days following the tour.
The commission highlighted that uprooting olive trees would damage a crucial agricultural resource for the landowners and further restrict their land use, ostensibly for road security.
Since the start of 2026, 55 Israeli military orders for the removal of trees and vegetation have been issued, targeting 2,372 dunums. This marks an increase from 47 orders targeting 1,613 dunums in 2025, indicating an additional 759 dunums targeted so far in 2026 compared to the previous year.
