Jerusalem:The northern entrances to Jerusalem are currently experiencing severe traffic congestion and a substantial buildup of vehicles this Sunday evening. This situation arises from intensified restrictions and measures imposed by Israeli occupation forces at military checkpoints.
According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, heavy traffic is reported in the vicinity of the Qalandia checkpoint and the "Fruit Roundabout" (Dawwar al-Fawakih) in the town of Kafr Aqab, north of occupied Jerusalem. These restrictions have significantly impacted the movement of Palestinians, contributing to the congestion.
Additionally, stricter measures at the Shu'afat refugee camp military checkpoint have exacerbated the traffic situation, leading to further congestion and vehicle backups. A newly established checkpoint at the entrances to the town of Hizma, north of Jerusalem, has also obstructed traffic flow, causing gridlock for vehicles in the area.
The ongoing traffic crisis at the Qalandia checkpoint continues to pose considerable challenges for citizens, resulting in significant delays and hardships as they attempt to reach their destinations.
