Israeli Colonists Accused of Stealing Palestinian Farmers’ Olive Harvest Near Hebron

Hebron:Israeli colonists reportedly stole the olive harvest of Palestinian farmers in the Wadi Jheish area, east of al-Samu, south of Hebron, as reported by local sources. The incident occurred on Monday evening, with the colonists also allegedly destroying several trees near an outpost set up in front of a Palestinian dwelling.

According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, armed colonists made an attempt to seize Palestinian-owned land in the Hamasa area of Dura. During this confrontation, they reportedly opened fire at the landowners who were trying to resist the seizure. Israeli occupation forces intervened, resulting in the detention of two individuals.

The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission (WCRC) has documented 482 attacks targeting the olive harvest season across the occupied West Bank from the beginning of the season through Sunday, October 25. These attacks reportedly involve assaults on farmers, denial of access to lands, theft of crops and agricultural equipment, and vandalism of trees and property. The WCRC notes that these incidents coincide with restrictions imposed by Israeli occupation forces, which limit farmers' ability to access their fields.

The commission further explained that attacks on olive harvesters, especially in areas close to colonies and colonial outposts, are a significant threat to Palestinian families. Such actions not only disrupt the harvest but also jeopardize the farmers' continued presence on their agricultural lands.
