Doha: Qatar reported that its air defenses successfully intercepted most of the missiles launched from Iran during an attack on Saturday, which involved ten ballistic missiles and two cruise missiles. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
According to Anadolu Agency, Qatar's Defense Ministry confirmed that the armed forces intercepted six of the ballistic missiles. Meanwhile, two ballistic missiles fell in Qatar's territorial waters, and two others landed in an uninhabited area, causing no harm. Additionally, the armed forces intercepted two cruise missiles during the attack.
The ministry emphasized that the Qatari Armed Forces are equipped with the capabilities and readiness required to protect the nation's sovereignty and territory and respond to any external threats. It also urged citizens, residents, and visitors to remain calm, adhere to instructions from security authorities, and rely solely on official statements to prevent the spread of rumors.
Since February 28, Iran has been launching missiles and drones toward Israel and Gulf countries, which host US military assets. These attacks have resulted in casualties and damage to civilian sites, including ports and residential buildings. Tehran claims that these attacks are a response to a US-Israeli military campaign against Iran, which has resulted in the deaths of hundreds, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and top military officials.
