Gaza City:Washington US human rights organizations have called on Congress to urgently intervene and apply pressure to cease US support for Israel. This plea follows the circulation of footage showing a Palestinian woman engulfed in flames inside her Gaza City home, while her young daughter was trapped by the fire.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the video, which has been widely shared across the United States, captures the aftermath of an Israeli attack on a residential apartment in Gaza City. The attack resulted in the death of at least one Palestinian woman, as efforts were made by residents to rescue those trapped inside.
The organizations argue that the footage highlights the humanitarian suffering faced by Palestinian civilians and raises questions about the ongoing US support for Israel in light of the casualties among women and children. They are urging members of both the House of Representatives and the Senate to condemn the attack, advocate for an end to US support for Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip, and hold accountable those responsible for civilian violations.
