Algeria Criticizes Colombia’s New Embassy in Jerusalem

Jerusalem:Algeria Algeria has condemned Colombia's decision to open an embassy in occupied Jerusalem, viewing it as a breach of international law.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, Algeria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared the decision unacceptable, stating it is part of ongoing illegal attempts to change the legal and historical status of Jerusalem. The ministry emphasized that this action violates international law and related international resolutions.

The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that such a move could undermine the two-state solution supported by the international community, intensify regional conflicts, and obstruct efforts to achieve lasting peace in the Middle East.

Algeria also urged the international community, with a specific appeal to the United Nations Security Council, to fulfill its legal, moral, and historical obligations. The country called for immediate measures to stop ongoing policies aimed at creating a new, unlawful reality in the occupied Palestinian Territory.
