UNRWA Asserts Readiness to Sustain Gaza with Three Months of Food Supplies

Gaza: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has announced that it possesses sufficient food aid to support the entire population of the Gaza Strip for the next three months, amid a deepening humanitarian crisis.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini shared on X that the agency has prepared food, medicines, and essential supplies for immediate delivery into Gaza. This readiness positions the agency to promptly address the urgent needs of the population once safe access is ensured.

Lazzarini noted, "We have enough to provide food for the entire population for the coming three months," highlighting the agency's significant role in the implementation of the ceasefire agreement. This includes the provision of essential services such as healthcare and education.

He also pointed out that more than 660,000 children in Gaza are eager to return to school, with UNRWA's teaching staff prepared to resume their educational duties. Lazzarini called on UN member states to support UNRWA in its mission during this crucial time.
