Tel aviv: U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Tel Aviv on Monday morning for a brief visit before heading to the Arab Republic of Egypt to participate in the Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Summit, attended by President Mahmoud Abbas along with leaders and heads of state from 20 other countries. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, President Trump said, before departing the United States for Tel Aviv, "It's great that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will be attending the Sharm el-Sheikh summit," adding, "The Gaza agreement may be my greatest achievement." Israeli media reports indicate that President Trump is expected to meet with the families of Israeli prisoners held in Gaza and deliver a speech before the Israeli Knesset prior to his departure to Sharm el-Sheikh. President Trump's visit to the region comes after he announced his plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip and achieve peace in the Middle East on September 29.
