The return of the State of Palestine team for urgent intervention and response from Libya

The State of Palestine’s urgent intervention and response team returned safely to the homeland, after a humanitarian relief mission in sisterly Libya that lasted eight days in the Derna region, which was severely damaged and thousands of victims fell, in addition to a large number of missing and displaced people as a result of a hurricane and major floods. The city was struck 10 days ago.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Riyad Al-Maliki, said that sending the State of Palestine team to Libya is an expression of our standing and solidarity with the brotherly Libyan people in the face of this disaster, indicating that the delegation’s mission has ended, in which the members of our civil defense team worked with all professionalism and responsibility, and contributed alongside the working teams. On the ground, both Libyan and international, in dealing with the situation on the ground and trying to find survivors, recover bodies, and other tasks carried out in difficult and harsh conditions.

He added that members of our medical team from the Ministry of Health dealt with cases that required medical interventions, and restarted operating rooms in a medical center in the Derna region that had stopped working as a result of the hurricane and the death of a large number of its doctors and staff, while the Radio and Television Corporation team worked to cover what was happening on the scene. the earth.

Minister Al-Maliki stated that the Palestinian International Cooperation Agency supervised the management of the team and coordinated the work, in cooperation with the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Tripoli and its General Consulate in Benghazi, representatives of the Palestinian factions, led by the Fatah movement, and representatives of the Palestinian community in Libya.

It is noteworthy that the efforts of the State of Palestine team were welcomed by the popular and official levels in Libya, and the team was also honored in an official ceremony organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Benghazi
