Hebron: Several Palestinians on Wednesday sustained injuries in an attack by Israeli colonists in the Huwara community, east of Yatta, south of Hebron, according to an activist. Residents experienced bruises and suffered from tear gas inhalation after Israeli settlers, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, attacked the community.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency, Osama Makhamreh reported that the colonists, shielded by Israeli forces, targeted the community after herding their livestock into the locals' agricultural fields, leading to numerous injuries. It was noted that several residents, including minors, suffered bruises and were suffocated due to pepper spray exposure. PRCS paramedics treated the injured at the scene.
Additionally, gun-toting soldiers apprehended two brothers from the community. The violence by colonists against Palestinians and their properties is a frequent occurrence in the West Bank, with Israeli authorities rarely prosecuting such actions.
The acts of violence by colonists include arson of properties and mosques, stone-throwing, uprooting crops and olive trees, and assaults on vulnerable homes. Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists reside in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which is considered a violation of international law.
