Colonists Assault Palestinian, Vandalize His Vehicle Near Ramallah

Ramallah: Israeli colonists on Wednesday evening assaulted a Palestinian driver and vandalized his vehicle near the al-Mughayyir village, northeast of Ramallah, according to WAFA correspondent. He reported that the colonists intercepted the vehicle passing along the Marj Si' road, smashed its windows, and physically attacked the driver.

According to Palestine news and Information Agency, this incident occurred amidst ongoing tensions as Israeli occupation forces continued to close the Marj Si' plain. The closure has effectively blocked access between the villages of al-Mughayyir and Abu Falah, further restricting movement for Palestinians in the area.

In addition to this attack, colonists also targeted passing Palestinian-registered vehicles on the main Rammun-Deir Jarir Road, east of Ramallah. They hurled stones at the vehicles, resulting in significant damage.

Violence by colonists against Palestinians and their property has become a routine occurrence in the West Bank, with these acts rarely facing prosecution by Israeli authorities. Such violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes.

Currently, approximately 1 million Israeli colonists reside in colonies across the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which is in violation of international law.
