Ramallah: Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa met today at his office with ANDO Toshihide, Japan’s Assistant Foreign Minister/Director-General, Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau, alongside Ambassador ARAIKE Katsuhiko, Japan’s Representative to Palestine. The discussions centered on the current situation in Palestine, highlighting the ongoing violence in Gaza and the West Bank.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, Prime Minister Mustafa emphasized the critical need for international backing to secure a sustainable ceasefire in Gaza. He also stressed the importance of initiating reconstruction efforts and unifying all Palestinian territories under a single system and legitimate authority. Mustafa reiterated that the end of occupation and a just peace based on a two-State solution is essential.
The Prime Minister acknowledged Japan’s consistent support and the contributions of international partners in humanitarian efforts. He noted Japan’s role in supporting governmental reforms aimed at improving public services and reinforcing public trust.
Assistant Foreign Minister Toshihide reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to the two-State solution and the necessity of achieving a ceasefire in Gaza. He also expressed Japan’s opposition to Israeli settlement activities in the West Bank and voiced support for Palestine’s reconstruction and reform efforts.
