Gaza: The Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine extended its congratulations to the Palestinian people and the Muslim community on the occasion of Mawlid al-Nabawi, marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed. The committee expressed hopes that this significant occasion would bring about goodness and peace, aiding the Palestinian people in their quest for freedom and independence, and the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Ramzi Khouri, a member of the Palestine Liberation Organization Executive Committee and the head of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs, noted the challenging circumstances currently faced by the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem. Khouri emphasized the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, both Muslims and Christians, in their commitment to their land, national rights, and holy sites amidst the ongoing occupation and its adversities.
Khoury highlighted the humanitarian values represented by this occasion, such as supporting the oppressed, safeguarding human dignity, and fostering values of mercy, peace, and justice. He reiterated the necessity of continuing to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people to alleviate their suffering and bring an end to the occupation.
The committee reaffirmed its commitment to national and spiritual unity among the Palestinian people, emphasizing that unity among Muslims and Christians is essential in confronting the occupation and safeguarding their land and holy sites. This unity is viewed as a critical element in the pursuit of freedom and independence, and in establishing an independent State of Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital.
