Rome: President Mahmoud Abbas of the State of Palestine met with the leader of Italy's Five Star Movement, Giuseppe Conte, at his residence in Rome.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the meeting focused on recent developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and the bilateral relations between Palestine and Italy. President Abbas expressed appreciation for the Five Star Movement's supportive stance towards Palestine and highlighted the importance of enhancing ties between the Palestinian and Italian communities. He stressed the need for increased international support to halt any actions that threaten the two-state solution.
President Abbas also underscored the necessity of establishing a lasting peace foundation based on international legitimacy resolutions. Accompanying President Abbas were PLO Executive Committee member Ziad Abu Amr, Presidential Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs Majdi Khaldi, and Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Italy Mona Abuamara.
