Rabat: President Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday awarded Moroccan engineer Ahmed El Biaz the Yabus Star of the Yasser Arafat Medal in recognition of his professional achievements and contributions to Palestinian-Moroccan relations. The medal was presented on behalf of President Abbas by Palestine's Ambassador to Morocco, Jamal Al-Shobaki, during a ceremony held in Rabat.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, El Biaz received the honor in recognition of his professional and national career, his role in the establishment of Gaza International Airport, and his support for the civil aviation sector at the Arab and international levels. The award also acknowledged his efforts to strengthen the ties of brotherhood between Morocco and Palestine.
