Gaza: President Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday awarded French Consul General in Jerusalem Nicolas Kassianides the Jerusalem Star Medal of the Order of Jerusalem. The award was presented during a meeting at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah marking the conclusion of Kassianides' diplomatic mission.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, President Abbas honored the French consul general in recognition of his role in strengthening relations of friendship and cooperation between the State of Palestine and the French Republic. This award also appreciates his efforts in supporting the Palestinian people and their pursuit of freedom and independence.
Kassianides expressed his gratitude to President Abbas for the honor, stating his pride in having worked to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. The ceremony was attended by the president's diplomatic affairs adviser, Majdi Al-Khalidi.
