According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, during the Cabinet's weekly meeting, concerns were raised about Israel's decision on "land registration," which was condemned as a unilateral move that could escalate conflict and destabilize the region. This decision was described as a violation of international agreements, aiming to consolidate the annexation of the West Bank.
The Cabinet called on the international community, along with Arab and Islamic nations, to adopt robust measures against the occupation's policies. These measures should focus on halting such actions and holding Israel accountable for its violations, thus safeguarding Palestinian rights and upholding international law.
The meeting also highlighted the intensifying situation in the West Bank, particularly the confiscation of Palestinian lands and the demolition of homes in the Jerusalem Governorate, including demolition orders for 40 homes in Anata. The Cabinet condemned the increasing raids, arrests, and movement restrictions.
Additionally, the Cabinet expressed condolences over the tragic incident in Tamoun, where a child was killed and his sister injured. It emphasized the need for a comprehensive investigation to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law.
In other developments, the Cabinet reviewed the preliminary outlines of the 2026 exceptional budget, prepared in collaboration with government institutions, the Ministry of Finance's Advisory Council, and civil society organizations. Despite economic challenges, the government remains committed to strategic plans, including allocating land for public works and health services in Jericho and Halhul.
The Cabinet approved renewing contracts for the Ibrahimi Mosque staff to bolster their presence and care for the mosque. Efforts to confront occupation crimes through political and diplomatic channels were also prioritized. Furthermore, the Ministry of Health's initiative to launch an epidemiology field training program received approval to enhance medical team skills.
Additionally, a memorandum of understanding was approved with the Colombian Institute for Family Care to provide urgent care and prosthetic limbs for Gaza's injured children. The Cabinet also commenced discussions on regulations to exempt vehicles for people with disabilities from customs duties, aiming for greater social justice and regulatory compliance.
