Palestinian Suffers Injury in Israeli Colonist Attack South of Hebron

Gaza: A Palestinian sustained bruises on Wednesday following an attack by Israeli colonists in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron. The incident was reported by an activist in the area.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, activist Osama Makhamreh stated that armed colonists attacked Ragheb Al-Dababseh as he attempted to reach his home in Khallat al-Daba' in Masafer Yatta. The assault resulted in injuries that necessitated his transfer to Yatta Government Hospital for treatment.

In a related incident, armed colonists conducted patrols around residents' homes in "Khallat Ali Ghunaim" in the town of Surif, north of Hebron, where they verbally abused the inhabitants. Such acts of violence by colonists against Palestinians and their property in the West Bank are frequently reported and rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

The violence perpetrated by colonists includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes. Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists reside in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which is considered a violation of international law.
