QABATIYA: A Palestinian child Tuesday evening sustained wounds following an Israeli army combat dog attack in the Qabatiya town, south of the occupied West Bank city of Jenin, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS). The PRCS said that its paramedics evacuated a 3-year-old child after he was mauled by a combat dog of the Israeli occupation forces in the town. It added that the child, whose condition was not identified, was rushed to Jenin Hospital for treatment.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, this incident occurred amidst intensified military operations by the Israeli occupation forces in various cities of the occupied West Bank on Tuesday. These operations resulted in the killing of four Palestinians, with reports of fierce armed clashes with the invading Israeli forces. In one part of these operations, an Israeli occupation drone assassinated two Palestinian men near the Martyrs’ Triangle in Qabatiya, south of Jenin. The victims were identified as Muhammad and S
hawqi Asasousi.
WAFA reported earlier Tuesday that the military operation in Qabatiya has been underway for several hours, with the Israeli occupation forces sending military reinforcement to the entrances of the town. The continuing Israeli offensive in the occupied West Bank since the start of the genocide on Gaza last year has claimed the lives of over 760 Palestinians, including 18 women and 166 children, with over 6,500 recorded injuries, based on numbers from the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Last September, Israeli media reported that Israel now considers the West Bank a battlefield, following days of escalated operations. In addition to the casualties, significant damage has been inflicted on the infrastructure of cities like Jenin, Tulkarm, Nablus, and Tubas, among others.
