Gaza: Israeli occupation intelligence on Wednesday held Jerusalem Affairs Minister Ashraf al-Aawar in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan, according to the Jerusalem Governorate. The detention took place while Minister al-Aawar was attending a condolence gathering, marking another instance of the ongoing restrictions imposed on Palestinian Jerusalemite officials.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the occupation intelligence briefly detained Minister al-Aawar, highlighting the continuing tensions in the region. Several days prior, occupation forces had arrested al-Aawar at his home in Silwan, only to release him on bail after hours of interrogation.
The report further noted that the occupation authorities had previously issued an order prohibiting Minister al-Aawar from entering the West Bank, underscoring the severe limitations placed on his movements. This series of actions reflects the heightened measures taken against Palestinian political figures in Jerusalem.
