Beit ummar: Israeli occupation forces have reinforced their stringent siege on Beit Ummar, located north of Hebron, by enforcing a full curfew. This action comes after the area was declared a closed military zone, further escalating tensions in the region.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, local media activist Mohammed Awad reported that the Israeli forces have imposed severe restrictions, preventing movement of residents, ambulance crews, and other vehicles within the town. Awad noted the military's implementation of repressive measures against the local population throughout the day.
Awad further stated that Israeli soldiers commandeered more than 15 homes in various neighborhoods, positioning snipers on rooftops. The military intensified patrols, particularly in the town center, obstructing worshippers from reaching mosques.
At dawn, Israeli forces conducted a large-scale detention campaign, detaining approximately 150 residents. The detainees were taken to a local school for interrogation and were released after several hours.
In addition to the siege on Beit Ummar, Israeli forces continue to impose strict restrictions on all roads leading to Hebron, as well as in several surrounding towns and refugee camps.
