Israeli Forces Seal Off Street in Bethlehem-Governorate Village.

Bethlehem: Israeli occupation forces on Saturday evening sealed off the main street of the Husan village, located west of the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem, as reported by a local official.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, Rami Hamamreh, who heads the Husan Village Council, stated that the forces closed the main street running through the ash-Sharfa, al-Mutina, and al-Mashahen neighborhoods, effectively denying villagers access to these areas. During the raid, soldiers armed with guns fired tear gas canisters and concussion grenades. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties in the incident.

The occupation forces have recently intensified their assaults and arbitrary measures against Husan village, including sealing off the al-Mutina neighborhood and compelling villagers to close their stores. Israel employs a complex combination of over 100 fixed checkpoints, flying checkpoints, settler-only roads, and various other physical obstructions to severely restrict Palestinia
ns’ freedom of movement.

These closures and other measures, ostensibly taken under the guise of security, are intended to entrench Israel’s 57-year-old military occupation of the West Bank. This is further enforced by the settler colonial project, which is maintained through routine and frequently deadly violence against Palestinians.
