Israeli Forces Intensify Operations in Hebron for Eighth Consecutive Day

Hebron:Israeli occupation forces have continued their operations in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron for the eighth consecutive day, eyewitnesses report. The forces have reinforced their positions, accompanied by engineering units, in the Deir Bahha area, which has been under siege since last Friday.

According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, the occupation forces raided the home of a Palestinian accused of a shooting attack in the Farsh al-Hawa area last week. They engaged in demolition work inside the house and displaced more families from the locality. Additionally, the forces stormed several neighborhoods in Hebron and the village of al-Rihiya, detaining three Palestinians, including a former prisoner, who were reportedly subjected to brutal beatings.

The occupation forces have maintained a complete lockdown on Hebron's entrances and exits, closing the al-Jilda and Deir Bahha areas, and conducting daily raids. Official data indicates that 537 families, totaling 3,361 individuals, have been forcibly displaced from their homes in these areas. Many families remain trapped, unable to move or receive aid due to armed forces' presence.

The Hebron Chamber of Commerce estimates financial losses from the closures to range between 10 and 12 million shekels daily, with significant impacts on the dairy sector. Education has also been severely disrupted, affecting about 262,000 students across 589 schools in the governorate, and many students in besieged areas remain unable to attend school.

The Support and Relief Committee has documented the displacement of 537 families, which include 232 infants, 1,193 children aged two to 17, 326 elderly people, 147 pregnant and breastfeeding women, 32 individuals with disabilities, and 213 people with chronic illnesses.
