Colonists Attack Olive Harvesters in Nablus Governorate

Nablus:Israeli colonists on Friday attacked olive harvesters in the town of Beita, south of Nablus, according to local sources. The colonists assaulted olive pickers in the al-Hara'iq area, forcing them to leave, and seized their olive-harvesting equipment.

According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, armed colonists also damaged olive trees in the southwestern part of Burqa village, east of Ramallah. They attempted to assault residents while they were harvesting olives in the area.

Colonists' violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities. Such violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which is considered a violation of international law.
