Tulkarm: As the wide-scale Israeli offensive in Tulkarm enters its 48th day, Israeli occupation forces forcibly displaced the remaining population of the Muraba’at Hannoun neighborhood in the Tulkarm refugee camp on Saturday, threatening to detain anyone found in the area.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, eyewitnesses reported that Israeli forces raided homes in the neighborhood and ordered residents to leave within five minutes under the threat of violence. One soldier reportedly informed the residents that bulldozers and tanks would soon be deployed in the area.
Many of those displaced, especially the elderly and sick, were forced to leave the camp under difficult humanitarian conditions caused by the ongoing assault on the city and its two refugee camps.
In a related development, Israeli forces raided several other homes across the camp, forcibly removing doors and causing severe damage to the properties. Forces continued to fire sound bombs to intimidate anyone who still did not leave, while additional homes within the camp were seized and turned into military outposts.
The Tulkarm refugee camp has been subjected to an ongoing Israeli military aggression for 48 days, resulting in a widespread displacement of approximately 12,000 people. Among them are women, children, the elderly, and the sick, many of whom have sought shelter in temporary accommodations or with relatives in the city and surrounding areas.
