Jerusalem:Israeli occupation forces have compelled Murad Ghaith, a resident of the Ras al-Amud neighborhood in Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, to demolish his own home.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Ghaith was forced to dismantle the upper floor of his family two-story building under the threat of having it demolished forcibly, which would incur additional costs and fines.
Local sources indicated that occupation forces also barred Ghaith and his family from living in the lower floor of the building. This incident is part of a wider policy by occupation authorities aimed at pressuring Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem by demolishing their homes or forcing them to self-demolish.
