NABLUS: Israeli occupation forces on Monday prevented Palestinian farmers from reaching their lands to pick olives in the village of Qusra, south of Nablus. Local sources reported that the occupation forces and a colonist from the illegal colony Migdolim stormed the northern and part of the eastern area, preventing the farmers at gunpoint from accessing their lands to pick olives, and forced them to leave. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, activist Fouad Hassan from Qusra stated that his family owns 12 dunums in the area and was prevented from accessing it that morning to pick olives. He mentioned that olives were usually picked from the area annually without requiring any coordination from the Israeli occupation authorities. This year, the village of Qusra has experienced daily instances of Israeli forces blocking villagers from accessing lands to pick olives. The current olive harvesting season in the West Bank has been marked by repeated attacks by colonists and occupation forces , including incidents of killing, burning, and cutting down olive trees, stealing the crop, and barring farmers from reaching their lands. The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported that since the beginning of this year's olive season until October 29, there have been 239 attacks against olive pickers by occupation forces and colonists, including 109 cases of preventing access to their lands. These attacks have resulted in the death of local resident Hanan Abdul Rahman Abu Salama, 60, from Faqqu'a village, injuries to more than 50 others, and the burning and uprooting of hundreds of olive trees, along with the seizing of their fruits.
