Gaza: Israeli occupation forces on Friday assaulted a Palestinian youth at the Awarta checkpoint, south of Nablus, according to a medical source. Amid Ahmad, Director of the Emergency and Ambulance Center, reported that PCRS crews provided first aid treatment to a 22-year-old man after he was assaulted by armed Israeli soldiers at the checkpoint.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the youth was identified as one of 11 detainees that the occupation forces had earlier rounded up from Tell town, located southwest of Nablus. Earlier in the day, dozens of colonists had entered the Ain al-Mazrab area of Tell, under the protection of Israeli forces.
The raid on Tell came in response to calls from Israeli colonists for a mass march to the town on Friday. This occurred a day after the occupation forces had transformed four homes in Tell into military outposts.
