Israeli Colonists Cut Down Olive Trees Amid Rising Tensions in Burqa.

Ramallah: Israeli colonists today cut down olive trees in the village of Burqa, east of Ramallah. Local sources said that a group of Israeli colonists raided the village's lands, cut down dozens of olive trees, and set fire to two areas of them, noting that the Israeli occupation forces stormed the village at the time of the attack. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the olive harvest season in the West Bank this year has witnessed repeated attacks by colonists and occupation forces, which have reached the point of killing, burning and cutting down olive trees, stealing the crop, and preventing farmers from accessing their lands. The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reports that since the beginning of the olive season this year, until October 29, the occupation forces have carried out 239 attacks against olive pickers, including 109 cases of preventing access to their lands. These attacks have resulted in the killing of citizen Hanan Abdul Rahman Abu Salama, 60, from the v illage of Faqqu'a, northeast of Jenin, and the injury of more than 50 others with various wounds. Additionally, hundreds of olive trees have been burned and uprooted, and their fruits seized.
