Gaza city: An Israeli airstrike on Saturday destroyed the medicines and medical supplies warehouse belonging to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip, causing extensive damage to the facility and damaging nearby tents housing displaced families.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency, medical sources reported that Israeli aircraft targeted the hospital's medical supplies warehouse, resulting in its complete destruction and leaving a large crater at the strike site. The explosion and subsequent destruction displaced dozens of families who had been sheltering in nearby tents.
The sources further explained that the targeting of the warehouse has exacerbated the humanitarian and health situation in the Gaza Strip, which is already facing severe shortages of medicines and medical supplies. Hospitals are under immense pressure, operating under extremely challenging conditions due to the ongoing Israeli offensive.
Israeli occupation forces continue their offensive on the Gaza Strip, targeting several areas amid a continued deterioration in humanitarian conditions and ongoing attacks on medical facilities and shelters for displaced people.
