Germany: Germany's foreign minister on Friday urged Iran to engage in serious negotiations with the United States to help end the war and stop blocking the Strait of Hormuz. Speaking to reporters in France after meeting with G7 partners, Johann Wadephul said the conflict is having an enormous impact on the global economy, and that further escalation must be avoided.
According to Anadolu Agency, Wadephul emphasized that the Iranian regime should seriously consider entering negotiations with the United States. He noted there are initial signs that provide optimism for potential talks. During a discussion about their meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Wadephul described the interaction with the US diplomat as 'friendly' and 'constructive'.
Wadephul stressed the unity among the G7 partners, stating there was no disagreement among them. He clarified that there had been no request from the United States for military contributions prior to the end of hostilities. Instead, he highlighted the diplomatic efforts and close coordination taking place among the involved parties.
