Egypt Condemns Israel’s Decision to Cut Off Electricity in Gaza

Gaza: Egypt Tuesday condemned Israel’s decision to cut electricity supplies in the Gaza Strip. In a press statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry considered the act a new violation of international humanitarian law and the Fourth Geneva Convention.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, Egypt reiterated its full rejection of Israel’s policies of collective punishment. This includes suspending the entry of humanitarian aid, which, according to the Ministry, only exacerbates the situation in the Gaza Strip.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry urged the international community to assume its responsibilities and take the necessary measures to halt these violations. The statement emphasized the urgent need for international intervention to address the humanitarian implications of the electricity cut and to ensure adherence to international laws and conventions.
