CWRC Reports 21 Israeli Attacks on Palestinian Farmers Within Half a Day

Nablus:The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission (CWRC) reported 21 attacks by Israeli occupation forces and colonists against Palestinian farmers and their lands over a 12-hour period from 600 a.m. to 600 p.m. on Thursday.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, these incidents occurred across the governorates of Nablus, Ramallah and al-Bireh, Hebron, Jerusalem, Jenin, and Salfit. The attacks involved 13 incidents carried out by colonists, some of whom were supported by occupation forces, and eight incidents directly involving the occupation forces. The acts of aggression included physical assaults, detentions, arrests, forcing farmers off their lands, stealing crops, and uprooting trees.

Nablus governorate experienced the highest number of incidents, with 12 reported attacks. In Yasid, colonists under army protection disrupted olive harvesting. Additionally, occupation forces entered the village council, threatening to ban olive picking without permits, despite most lands being classified as Area A.

Other targeted locations included Asira al-Qibliya, Khirbet al-Marajim, Qaryut, Jalud, Surra, Burin, Asira al-Shamaliya, and Duma, where farmers were forced off their lands, pursued, and had their crops stolen. In Beit Furik, a farmer was assaulted, and his olives were thrown on the ground. Farmers were also expelled from their lands in the al-Ashar, Ras al-Deir, and al-Naqqara areas in Yatma.

In Ramallah and al-Bireh, colonists attacked olive pickers in Burqa village's al-Hadab area, leading to injuries and detentions. In Kafr Malik, the occupation forces razed land and uprooted hundreds of olive trees.

Hebron governorate saw colonists, with army backing, forcing farmers off their lands in Masafer Yatta and preventing access in Khallat Ghanim. Israeli bulldozers leveled land and uprooted olive trees in Sikka, Dura, and Beit Ula.

In Jerusalem's Beit I'nan town, occupation forces restricted farmers' access to lands in the al-Khunaidiq area, arrested a young man, and seized a vehicle. In Jenin, tear gas was fired and farmers were barred from olive harvesting near Tarsala settlement. In Salfit's Deir Ballut, colonists forced a farmer off his land and detained a young man.

The CWRC highlighted that these attacks and restrictive measures by the occupation army are transforming the olive harvest season into a tool for pressuring farmers, threatening their livelihoods, and facilitating colonial expansion over Palestinian territory.
