Commemorating the Polytechnic Student Revolution in Greece turns into a demonstration in support of Palestine

Greece - Together - November 17, 1973 The student polytechnic revolution began, which overthrew the dictatorship in Greece. This year, at the initiative of the Palestinian community in Greece and popular organizations, it was agreed with the student forces and various leftist forces that the events would be for Palestine and its people.

Since morning, delegations began arriving at the Polytechnic University in central Athens to lay wreaths of roses. However, at 10:30 in the morning, with the arrival of the Ambassador of the State of Palestine and the community delegation to lay wreaths, they were met with warm applause and chants of “Freedom for Palestine,” “Long live the Intifada,” and others. After completing the wreaths, the Greek citizens, the Arab communities, and the Palestinian community began to gather to begin the demonstration, which as usual ended in front of the American embassy, but this year it was agreed that it would end in front of the occupation embassy.

Huge crowds raised Palestinian flags and banners denouncing the genocidal war waged by Israel against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank.
