Jerusalem: 14 martyrs, 18 demolitions, and 2,826 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa last month

Jerusalem - Ma'an - On Monday, the Jerusalem Governorate issued its report on the crimes and violations of the Israeli occupation in the occupied capital, for the month of November.

The governorate explained in the report issued by the Public Relations Unit that the frenzied attacks by the occupation authorities and settlers are continuing, under the right-wing occupation government, which is implementing an extremist program aimed at annexation, displacement, Judaization, seizing lands, and deepening settlement and apartheid.

Martyrs and the file of bodies detained by the occupation

During November, 14 martyrs died in the Jerusalem Governorate, including 4 children, in addition to three from the Hebron Governorate, and a liberated Jerusalemite prisoner deported to the Gaza Strip also rose.

The occupation detained the bodies of 4 martyrs: the young man Nabil Halabiya, the child Muhammad Farroukh, and the two brothers Ibrahim and Murad Nimr. Until the end of November 2023, the occupation authorities are still detaining the bodies of 34 Jerusalemite martyrs in the occupation’s refrigerators and number cemeteries.

Targeting national figures

The occupation authorities continued their violations against the governor of Jerusalem, Sharif Adnan Ghaith. On November 14, the occupation forces stormed Ghaith’s house in the town of Silwan in occupied Jerusalem. On November 3, the occupation court extended the detention of the Jerusalemite lawyer and activist Muhammad Alian, father of the martyr Bahaa, on charges of incitement on the social networking site. On November 6, the occupation forces arrested the head of the Public Relations and Media Unit in the Jerusalem Governorate, Marouf Al-Rifai, after storming his home in the town of Anata, northeast of occupied Jerusalem.

On November 8, the occupation forces stormed the office of Jerusalemite lawyer Medhat Diba in the Shuafat refugee camp, under the pretext of its proximity to the home of the Al-Zalbani family, which the occupation blew up. On the 9th of the month, the occupation forces stormed the house of the secretary of the organizing committee in the town of Beit Anan, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, Fayez Abu Al-Tin, and detained him for hours. Then he was released, and on the 16th of the same month, the occupation Minister of the Interior ordered the initiation of procedures to “rescind the blue identity” from the two Jerusalemite prisoners, Majid Al-Jubeh and Rashid Al-Rishq, under the pretext of “belonging to banned organizations.” It is noteworthy that Al-Jubeh and Al-Rishq were subjected to several arrests and prosecutions over the years.

Settler crimes

During November, the Jerusalem Governorate monitored 4 settler attacks, and a number of settlers attacked lands belonging to the Armenian Patriarchate in occupied Jerusalem, with an area estimated at 11 thousand square meters, and the neighborhood residents confronted them and expelled them from the land.

22 injuries by occupation bullets

During November, the Jerusalem Governorate monitored injuries resulting from the occupation forces’ use of excessive force against Jerusalemites in various parts of the occupied capital. 22 injuries were monitored as a result of live and rubber-coated metal bullets and severe beatings by the occupation forces, in addition to hundreds of cases of gas suffocation.

2826 settlers storm Al-Aqsa

2,826 settlers and 694 foreign tourists, under the guise of tourism, stormed the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, under heavy protection from heavily armed special occupation forces.

286 arrests

During November, about 286 cases of arrest of citizens were monitored in all areas of the Jerusalem Governorate, and among the detainees were 16 children and 13 women.

Decisions of the occupation courts against detainees

The occupation courts imposed unfair decisions against detainees, ranging from issuing actual prison sentences to imposing house arrest, in addition to deportation decisions and heavy fines, and extending the detention of a large number of detainees for long months without bringing clear charges against them.

During November, the racist occupation courts issued 25 actual prison sentences against Jerusalemite prisoners, including 19 administrative detention sentences, in addition to imposing very heavy financial fines that increase the suffering of their families.

We also monitored 16 house arrest decisions issued by the occupation authorities against Jerusalemite citizens, and two deportation decisions.

Demolition, bulldozing and property seizure crimes

The number of demolitions in the Jerusalem Governorate reached 18, of which 9 were forced self-demolitions, 9 were carried out by occupation mechanisms, in addition to one bulldozing operation.

The demolitions carried out by the occupation forces included: a house, two residential rooms, a residential building under construction, a horse barn, and a fence. During the first week of November, the occupation authorities handed over a number of demolition orders in the town of Silwan in occupied Jerusalem. The occupation forces stormed the home of the family of the Jerusalemite prisoner Imad Abeisan “Al-Abbasi” and handed the family demolition orders for shops belonging to the prisoner.

In the Al-Bustan neighborhood in the town of Silwan in occupied Jerusalem, the occupation municipality handed over demolition orders for several homes, and attempted seizures in an attempt to secure the settlers’ seizure of the “Cow Park” land, which is used as a parking lot for vehicles.

Prisoners file

The occupation authorities released 79 Jerusalemite prisoners, including 24 women and 55 children (between 14 and 18 years old), as part of a prisoner exchange deal. The deal included the release of the wounded child who was subject to house arrest, Abdul Rahman Zagal (14 years old), and the youngest prisoner, Ahmed Nawaf. Salaima (14 years old) from Ras al-Amud, and the youngest prisoner is Nofat Hammad (16 years old) from Sheikh Jarrah, in addition to Jerusalemite women with high sentences, such as: Israa Jaabis, Marah Bakir, Shorouk Dwayyat, Fadwa Hamada, Amani Hashim, and Nourhan Awad.

The deal also included the release of the two marabouts and teachers, Hanadi Al-Halawani and Khadija Khwais. The occupation intelligence summoned the families of the prisoners scheduled to be released to come to the occupation police station, “Rooms 4.” Upon their arrival, their identities and mobile phones were seized, and then they were presented with conditions for the release of their children. Among the conditions were: not Gathering, not raising flags and banners, not setting off fireworks, preventing the liberated prisoner or one of his relatives from appearing on television screens or making any statement, in addition to preventing gatherings with the prisoner’s family, distributing sweets and celebrating in all their manifestations, and then the families are detained in a square until the time of their children’s release. .

Violations against Jerusalem institutions and landmarks

The occupation authorities continued to target educational institutions in Jerusalem and clamp down on students, whether through inspection, arrest, or incitement in the corridors of the occupation Knesset. During the month, members of the occupation Knesset incited during their session against Jerusalemite school students, describing them as “murderers roaming the streets,” and that the students Children under the age of 12 are “potential saboteurs,” and that the education system in East Jerusalem is “a bloody system and a monster that will wake up at any time.”

The so-called “Education Committee” in the occupation Knesset agreed to pass a list of the names of schools that they consider incitement, and a call was made to impose a thirty-year prison sentence on every Jerusalemite teacher who “practices incitement,” under the supervision of Knesset member Amit Halevy and other members of the extreme right in Jerusalem. Occupied.

The occupation authorities closed Al-Aqsa Islamic School and Kindergarten for a week, and arrested the school principal along with one of the students after assaulting and searching him. The occupation authorities demanded that the school administration paint all the walls of the school, not just the wall on which the word “Hamas” was written. Obliterating the landmarks of the Holy City

On November 23, occupation municipality crews hung Israeli flags on the wall of the Yusufiya cemetery near Lions Gate Road in occupied Jerusalem.

Storming Jerusalem institutions

Violations against journalists

On November 2, the occupation police imposed heavy fines on the vehicle of photojournalist Abdel Karim Darwish from the town of Beit Hanina in occupied Jerusalem, coinciding with his trial, and then released him on the condition of two weeks of house arrest and financial bail. On the 3rd of the month, the occupation forces arrested photojournalist Hamza Naaji while performing his journalistic work in Wadi Al-Jouz in occupied Jerusalem, and then released him on condition of house arrest for five days, and the confiscation of his mobile phone.

On the 17th of the month, the occupation forces attacked the Turkish TRT crew while they were covering the repression of worshipers in occupied Jerusalem. The occupation forces also arrested the Jerusalemite photojournalist Abd al-Af Bassam Zaghir.
