Ramallah:The Wall and Colonization Resistance Commission has reported 16 attacks by Israeli forces and colonists against Palestinian olive harvesters and their lands in seven West Bank governorates. These incidents occurred on Tuesday, with the assaults taking place between 600 AM and 600 PM.
According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, the documented attacks involved the use of live ammunition against farmers, resulting in injuries from beatings and tear gas canisters. Several olive harvesters were detained during these incidents.
The attacks also included the burning of an agricultural structure, theft of crops and harvesting equipment, land leveling, and the uprooting of olive trees. In addition, citizens were reportedly prevented from accessing their lands under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
The Commission highlighted a noticeable escalation in the violence used against Palestinian farmers, noting a shift from intimidation and land access denial to direct actions such as live fire, physical assaults, and mass detentions amid the olive harvest.
The Commission further warned that if this pattern of attacks continues, it could lead to long-term displacement from agricultural lands for Palestinian farmers. They have called on the international community to intervene urgently to protect Palestinian farmers, stop the attacks by Israeli forces and colonists, and ensure accountability for those responsible for these aggressive actions.
