Israeli Forces Carry Out Demolition and Uprooting Operations East of Hebron

Hebron:Israeli forces demolished a home, uprooted over 200 fruit trees, and destroyed water wells and agricultural facilities east of Hebron on Monday. They also prevented farmers from harvesting olives in southern Hebron.

According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, Resident Samih Da'na reported that Israeli forces raided his land in the village of Birin, demolished a 100-square-meter home, uprooted more than 200 fruit trees, and destroyed three water wells and other agricultural facilities, including retaining walls and a fence surrounding the eight-dunum plot.

Da'na stated that he had previously been notified of an order to demolish the home and clear the land. He appealed to an Israeli occupation court and presented legal documents securing a court order to halt the demolition. Despite this, the forces proceeded with the demolition and land-clearing without warning.

Additionally, Israeli forces raided Khirbet Mughayir al-Abeed in Masafer Yatta, photographing homes, caves, and agricultural facilities belonging to Shihadeh Makhamreh, raising concerns of their potential demolition. This comes just a week after demolition notices were issued for these properties.

In the villages of al-Tuwani and al-Rakeez, the forces also prevented farmers from harvesting olives, forcing them to leave the area despite prior coordination with the forces.
