Four-Nation Group Declares Israeli Occupation as Core Instability Source in Region

Istanbul:The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Egypt, and Pakistan, collectively forming a four-nation group, have declared the Israeli occupation as the primary source of instability in the region and beyond. The ministers asserted that Israeli policies have intensified a widespread sense of injustice among global public opinion.

According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, during a meeting held in Istanbul on Friday, the ministers advocated for the immediate implementation of the two-state solution as outlined by relevant United Nations resolutions.

They reiterated their support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, emphasizing their inalienable right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent, sovereign, viable, and territorially contiguous Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. This stance aligns with the UN Security Council resolutions aiming for comprehensive peace in the Middle East.

Furthermore, the ministers called for an immediate cessation of Israeli violence, a halt to efforts altering Jerusalem's legal and historical status, and measures to avert further destruction and humanitarian suffering in Palestine.

They also condemned past and ongoing colonial activities in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and denounced colonist crimes against Palestinians. The urgent need to ensure the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid and the reconstruction of Gaza was also highlighted in their discussions.
